Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are dancing for the very first time, looking to switch studios, or looking to prepare yourself to try out for one of our performance teams or a high school, we are excited to walk alongside your dance journey! We understand you as the dancer or parent may have some important questions, so we have developed the FAQs section below. You may have more questions and we are here to help! Feel free to send us an email or call the studio during operating hours.

Do I need previous dance experience?

No previous dance experience is needed! Gayton takes new dancers at every stage of their training! We encourage students to try new classes and expand their dance training.

How many students are in each class?

Classes range from 8-12 students per class. Gayton likes to keep classes smaller to give extra attention to each individual student. Here at Gayton, we are a family!

Are there performance teams?

Yes! Gayton Dance is known for our high energy, fierce dance teams! We are proud to be the only dance studio who performs for the Denver Nuggets Halftimes! Throughout the year we perform for the Harlem Globetrotters, Denver Fashion Week, Colorado Mammoth Games,Thornton Fest and Royal Caribbean Cruise line (just to name a few!)

Is there a dress code?

Yes, we do have a dress code. We prefer tight fitting black leggings/black tank tops/black shorts for jazz. Pink ballet tights and black leotards for ballet and black comfortable clothing and tennis shoes for hip hop!

Do I have to try out to be a part of the Gayton Production Company?

There are no tryouts for our Production teams, our teachers will let dancers know when they are being promoted! Communication is key! ALWAYS, feel free to talk with your teachers to see how you are doing!
